I am contacting you in my capacity as 1st
Team Manager of Harold Wood Athletic Football Club to seek your assistance
in ensuring that your local football team has the same quality of equipment
and support that our opponents receive.
This may sound like a begging letter
(ok, it is a
begging letter!!!!), but like life in
general, the cost of running a football club is becoming more and more
expensive. The cost of the two pitches we hire from the council is nearly
£3500 per season, so before we have even kicked a football our expenses far
exceed our income (which is all contributed by playing members and their
subscription fees). Add to that the cost of kits, paying officials, league
registration costs, training costs etc it’s clear that without the help and
support of local sponsors the football club in Harold Wood would not
survive.
We have,
for a number of years, been lucky enough to have various sponsors who have
been able to offer support to the club both financially and physically but
we are at a stage where most financial backing has come to an end.
To try and generate interest from financial backers we
are able to offer advertising boards with your company details and logo on
them. These
boards will be located around the perimeter of the pitch on all match day
fixtures which involve the 1st or 2nd teams each
Saturday throughout the season (see attached example). We will also add your
name and logo on to our website and match day programmes. The cost of the
board is £250 per season, this will not be an additional cost to the sponsor
but part of whatever financial backing they can provide to the club.
With your support we hope to provide all the players
with training tops, tracksuits, match day t-shirts, water-proof tops and
more up to date training equipment ensuring that our teams continue to
provide excellent results and silverware for the local area. We hope that
any equipment bought from your kind sponsorship will be emblazoned with your
company details.
This
season in particular is an exciting time for all at the club, not only is it
our centenary year but we are also looking forward to having our new £1m
clubhouse completed by November 2008. This we hope will provide a great
opportunity for any potential sponsors to be part of a new era at Harold
Wood Athletic Football Club.
