News, Announcements and Information for Season 2008/09

This is our centenary season and everyone involved with the club would love it to be a successful one, both on and off the pitch. There have been a few changes to the management teams and a lot is going on!

New Clubhouse

After an incredible amount of work by the Sports Association, the new building is finally on it's way. the site has been marled out and work has started on the foundations. It is hoped that the building will be ready this year, which will be a real boost.

Management Team

Steve Portway will be joining the current 1st team Managers Lee Hammond and Mick Reeves in a coaching capacity. His experience at all levels of the amateur game will prove invaluable.

Steve East will be taking up the post of Club Physio. He will be at all 1st team games next season, and will be available at training sessions for all club members to treat, and provide advice on, injuries.

The veterans team are looking for a new manager next season. The current managers will still be involved on the playing side and have already arranged the fixture list for 2008/09. If you are interested, please call John on 07989 831751.

Essex Olympian League

The Premier Division will consist of 15 teams this season, which is three more than last year. This is due to the large number of suitable applicants to join the league and doubt a testament to the league's popularity and strength. Sensibly the league are waiting to see if these teams stay around and that numbers are maintained, and if that is the case, from the following season 2009/10, the league will split in to four divisions, thereby reducing the number of teams in each division to 12.

New Club Badge

The club have had a new badge designed (mainly by Daren Brown) in honour of our centenary year which will be on this season's kits. The new design is shown below.
